Artist Statement

     Up on your tiptoes you peek into a shrub and discover an immaculately crafted nest silently cradling jewel-like eggs. This is the moment I covet to capture in my art.  The experience of discovering something new in nature, appreciating its uniqueness and beauty, admiring its fragility and strength.  I want my art to surprise, delight, question preconceptions, and push boundaries to help cultivate a community that respects and protects our earth so we can continue to find joy and inspiration from it.  

Artist Bio

     I will never forget the first moment I stepped into a yarn shop- it was earth shattering, ground breaking…perhaps not what most people feel when they see yarn for the first time, but for me, it was revolutionary.  Knitting possesses endless possibilities of color, texture, pattern, shape, and form, an ideal medium to create art.  I began experimenting with yarn in my artwork while receiving my BFA in Fine Art from Ringling College of Art and Design.  I continued to master the craft of knitting and crochet creating knitwear designs. I am now passionately focusing on creating works of art utilizing those skills.  I am fortunate to live in beautiful Washington State where I gain abundant inspiration from our incredible and diverse landscape. When not in my studio you can find me outside enjoying the company of my amazing kids and husband while snowboarding, running, hiking, paddle boarding, and camping.
